If you’re looking for something unusual to do and feel a little creative, these crisps are to die for! The thing I love about these crisps is they can either be festive apple crisps or thanksgiving apple crisps depending on how you use them!
I never thought that dried apples would be a thing I’d want to try, I love apples cut up and eaten the “right” way. Then again now that I’ve tried these dried apple slices, I can’t get enough they’re that tasty!
The thing with these dried apple rings is you can use whatever spices you want on them. This apple crisp recipe would work fine without any spices on them but what’s the fun in that right?
If you’re making apple crisps for thanksgiving, I would put apple pie spice on them. They taste so amazing and fit in with all the other thanksgiving food that you’re making and people will love them, just make sure you make enough!
You can also put cinnamon spice on your apple crisps recipe if you want, make them the healthy snack for Christmas! If you’re wondering about the dried apples health benefits, well they’re low in calories! So either way, have fun with your apple crisp topping!

Vegan Apple Crisps
This is a dried apples in oven recipe, it takes a while but it smells so good while they bake and you really don’t have to put that much effort in! If you fancy a healthy vegan snack, these are the best kind! Who doesn’t want to make a dried apples oven recipe!
If you’re thinking, where to buy dried apples. You can get them in most supermarkets, although after looking at the prices you’re better off making them yourself and saving a fortune at the same time.
If you’re making these dried sliced apples I’d suggest using a silicone baking mat, they’re easier to use and the apples come right off without any issues at all! You can also save a fortune on baking parchment and help the environment! Or you can use a non-stick baking tray which are a lot more expensive!

How To Store Dried Apples
These dried apple slices will keep in an airtight tub for at least a week, personally, however, I’ve never got to a week without eating them all! They’re moreish and you won’t be able to resist.
This post should help tell you how to cook dried apples and love them. I will say it’s the best recipe if you have apples just sat there which aren’t being eaten and children love dried apples so it might be a way of getting them to eat their daily fruit?
Cinnamon Apple Crisps Recipe
You could say these are slimming world apple crisps if you’re on the journey because they really are low calories and probably low syns but I’m not a slimming world food expert I’m afraid.
These dried apples are the perfect snack, they’re chewy dried apples so keep that in mind when you bake them. If they’re still soft, they’re a little unbaked and bake them a little longer.

Spices Apple Crisps Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 Apples I like Granny Smith but any you want
- 5 tsp Apple Pie or Cinnamon Spice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 160c. Cut the apples into thin slices and place on the baking mat. Sprinkle with your spice, as generous as you want depending on how strong you want the flavour.
- Cook for 30 minutes, after 30 minutes take out the apples and turn them over and then cook for a further 30 minutes. If the apples look done before the hour take them out and leave them to cool on a wire rack.
