Who doesn’t love Easter? I mean it’s one of the best times of the year when you can eat as much chocolate as you want because it’s easter eggs, well other than all that Christmas chocolate!
I love making chocolate Easter nests every year and every year they seem to get tastier and tastier! This chocolate Easter nests recipe is super easy to make, takes no time at all and everyone will love it!
I know a lot of people use easter nests cornflakes or rice crispies but I don’t, I’m a total rebel in that department. I like to use Shreddies and I find it a lot tastier.
Mini egg easter nests are to die for, they’re the perfect thing to make every easter and I have to say it’s a great recipe to be making with children and it takes little effort as well.
How To Make Chocolate Easter Nests
One thing I love about this recipe is how easy it is, yet there are ways you could get it wrong so pay close attention because I did mess it up the first time I tried, still tasted nice though.
Make sure you follow the recipe correctly, I found the first time around that it looked like I had too many shreddies so I took some out, however, I didn’t have enough so I just had solid lumps of chocolate, which isn’t as nice as it might sound!
I’d also advise using silicone cupcake cases so that you don’t have any paper waste and so the nests are easy to remove once they have set, that way it makes the whole process so much easier for everyone.
I’d also suggest instead of using the basic wooden spoon we all have in the kitchen, go for something a little easier to use and a lot more sturdy. Get yourself a silicone spatula to use when you bake, food is also less likely to stick to it so you’ll be winning!

I’ve seen a few large easter basket recipes being made and I have to say I love them! I’ve seen one which was made in a cake tin and it held creme eggs and seriously I was living for it! I’m not sure I’d be able to make one however as it wouldn’t last to get to the photography stage!
