So I’d never made pie crust before, I was totally excited and couldn’t wait! One thing I will say is make sure you have loads of room in the kitchen, when it comes to using the rolling pin later on, you’re going to need it! That being said, this was the first time I’d made a pie so I didn’t have much idea on what the pie crust should be like, I’d never even purchased a pre made one before. I just wanted to make applie pie though so I decided it was time to put my head down and make a vegan pie crust from scratch!
If you’re like me and you’re only just starting out in the kitchen and you’ve found that most free from foods are too expensive, don’t worry. I have to say this recipe is super easy, it doesn’t take a huge amount of focus and you can even have music playing in the background. I wanted to make a vegan pie crust that didn’t have loads of weird fancy ingridents and was simple to follow, so that’s what I did!
What type of pies are your favourite? Let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to make one in the future! I don’t know why but for some reason apple pie has been on my mind for quite a while and I finally took the plunge. I hope you like the recipe, don’t forget if you want to make another pie at the same time, double the ingridents and you can do just that.
I didn’t want to but if you fancy making the top of your pie crust a little brown just brush it with some melted vegan butter, sprinkle some sugar as well if you fancy a sweet crunch when you dig in! I hope you like it as much as I did! As you can see from mine the edging is a little off, make sure the dough overlaps slightly because it will shrink a little while baking and then once the pie is baked you can always remove any excess dough!
